BE IT RESOLVED that we, the fans of Buying Crowley Books, hereby declare our dedication and commitment to supporting the publication of books by Aleister Crowley through the simple act of buying them.

MOREOVER, we will, as often as possible, buy multiple copies: e.g., one to preserve as collectible, a few to give to friends, one to desecrate with esoteric scrawlings, etc.

M is for Magic

He idolised Aleister Crowley. He purchased Crowley’s paintings, robes, and his former Scotland home by the Loch Ness- where rumours had that it murders had taken place and one of Jimmy’s housekeepers committed suicide.

Bonzo had once pranked Jimmy by staging a fake seance. He’d be reading books and attending seances himself. Like Bonzo, but on a heavier note, the media took this to their advantage and often connected Jimmy’s interest to misfortunes such as Robert’s son Karac’s death. It was called the Zeppelin Curse.

Some people believe “Stairway To Heaven” was written by supernatural forces controlling Robert’s hand. And we’ve all heard that story that Jimmy sold his soul to the devil to become a great guitarist.

I personally like the version in which the devil sells his soul to Jimmy to learn to play the blues. And I trust that the most real and true magic within Led Zeppelin is their music and lyrics.
